Dude, I had the exact same damage 1 week into Vette ownership in 1994.

It was fixed and 12 years later it RULES ALL!

As other's have said, glad you're OK, maybe the vette can be repaired but don't worry about it now..R & R is what you need!

Not that it would've helped in your situation but I've become more of a defensive driver - leaving lots of room between me and the car ahead. Problem is other driver's seem to view that as an open gap and stuff their car in between.

Happened during the holidays during rush hour traffic. Only the car ahead of me was slowing down when the car next to me thought she had an open lane, darted in and then had to stop suddenly. I ended up locking up and sliding but avoided rear-ending the car that jumped into my lane...would've been my fault I suppose. No damage 'cept for the fact that I blew out seals in both front calipers during lock-up...slow leak, turned up about a month later as puddles under the front tires.

Thanks for all of the input. I'm feeling better about this more now than I was two days ago. The part that sucks is I went through this three years ago with another car. SOB ran a red light and broke my knee that time. I was getting ready to restore a 64-1/2 Mustang for the wife when this happens. I found out a guy in the local Vette club is a frame and body guru. I'm going to get his opinion as well. I will let you know how it turns out.
