Default The Vette is Dead

I ended up at the tail end of a three car accident. I took a direct hit to the rear wheel and frame. The trailing arm is bent, the shock mount is up against the battery box and the body mount area looks a little crushed. I was sitting at a red light when it happened. I ended up with a headache and seven staples in the scalp. I hope this link works for some pics.

Painful! The car looks repairable, if the frame is not badly bent. Sounds like you need some prescription strength Tylenol for a while. Sorry for your loss. Hope its just temporary.

I'd be tearing the at fault driver 3 new a-holes if they did that to my vette... I already have to beat my local shop for scratching the paint in the rear driver's side 1/4 panel!

What's mainly important is you're ok, because we definitely can't afford to lose a Corvette member!

Well the good news is that you are here to write about it.

The same thing happened to me 7 years ago ( but not in a vette) I was at a redlight and the BMW decided not to stop. I have severe whiplash and headaches that started 1.5 years AFTER the accident.

So make sure you get adequate checkup in the neck area before you sign anything off. I did not, and now am suffering from it. Mentally and financially.

This seems to happen to alot of people, Heres another heartbreaker, well not really.
My brother just got his car(93 stealth rt), and just got his licence. It was his second time driving with his licence, he puts his turn signal on slows up, then why hes sittin waitin to turn a 18 wheeler SMACKS him in the Rear. He ended up with no serious injury, but his car did.
After Them figting with the trucking company, and trucker, my brother finally recieved a check for 5.5k, and fixed his car up from the damage.
I cant drive yet but if this happends i will get so mad, and probably hurt someone Deffinatly if im putting my time and hardwork, and money to fix my vette up and someone crashes into me because they cant pay attention.......

But glad to hear your not hurt, Just make sure your ok and Do not let them rip you off in money, They will try and give you less money then what you need...

BTW get a lawyer NOW. I delayed in getting an attorney and ended up not getting as much as I could have, if I would have seen an attorney asap.

For those of you in other parts of the world, I need to explain one thing first. In Texas, they have started making four lane roads into five lane roads, where the center lane can be used as a left turn lane by both sides of the road. Through common courtesy, you allow the person who enters this lane first to complete their turn, even if they are blocking you from making yours. But in Houston, a new unwritten rule is the center lane, if empty, can be used as a high speed passing lane. At least, that seems to be the popular use for it. Having said that, I was told the accident happened like this. I was stopped in line for the red light in the right lane. Traffic in both lanes behind me stopped to let a guy out of the Kroger parking lot. He pulled out to make a left turn, but another guy haulin' butt down the left turn lane to make the light beat him there. The guy coming out of the parking lot clips the rear of the guy in the left turn lane causing him to make a 90 degree right turn into me, still haulin' butt. I was spun around so, instead of facing west, I'm facing south. The guy that hit me continued into the ditch. I did not know about the parking lot guy until the cop told me at the emergency room. I don't hurt so much now, rather I just feel like a bad hangover.

And if it can't be repaired, send me the rear bumper!

All kidding aside, it's good that you're safe. The car can be repaired or replaced. The driver who caused it should be beaten severely.
