Hey guys, after reading www.sounddeadenershowdown.com, I have decided that I'm going to insulate my car with Second Skin's Damplifier Pro - here's the website: http://www.secondskinaudio.com/ . I know it's a bit more expensive than FatMat and the other things most guys here use, but to me the likely benefits are well worth it. I'm wondering, though, if it's worth it to get any of their other products - I will be laying down a layer of Damplifier Pro with Reflectix on top of it for a heat barrier - but Second Skin has a wide range of other products supposedly aimed at further decreasing noise/vibration/rattles, and even a product called Motor Mat to act as a heat barrier. Are any of these worth it, or will Damplifier Pro + Reflectix keep me happy sound- and heat-wise? Also, how much will I need to do the entire interior on my 72 coupe - I'll be doing everything with the possible exception of the firewall...
on the reflectix, I just helped my friend replace the carpet in his '79 and we put down reflectix under the carpet for a heat barrier.
He bought two of the 16" wide rolls and we used all of one roll and a little bit of the second roll. I think the cost was about $19/roll.
you will also need approx 1 can of the 3M spray adhesive to put down the Reflectix and that cost approx $9 or $10 a can.
