Flowmaster Mufflers 50's ?
I know this has probably been beat to death (Yes, I did a search before posting) but, I simply want to know how loud the 50's are inside the car. Other options? I want a deep, throaty sound for my BB.

I have the 50s on mine. It is loud enough when you are on it but nice enough at a cruise rpm where you can carry on a conversation in the car. The 40s were to loud for me, (maybe I'm getting older now) and the Flowmaster dealer talked me out of them. I'm glad I went with the 50s on my car.

I aquired Flowmaster 40's when I purchased my ride and they are brand new still in the box. I dont want anything loud and crazy just something that is nice at cruising speeds and that will let me hear myself think. Are these going to be too loud? From the above threads I think they might be.
Anyone willing to trade Flowmaster 40's for some milder ones still brand new in the box?
Thanks,
Jake

we have 40's on our 75. It sounds pretty good until you're on the highway at 60-70 then they're loud,we're running 373 gears too fo rpm is aorun 3400.
I going to build a 2.5" system using 50's for my 72 308 car this Spring. It will be interesting to compare the two.

I just ordered the DF-50's. They'll probably arrive on my doorstep tomorrow. And I also found a local custom exhaust shop that will do the entire installation.
I'm curious the "H" pipe (crossover pipe). What is the purpose of this? How does it affect the performance and sound of the exhaust system? Do I want to have this done when the DF-50's are installed?

I'm planning to go the same route with Flowmaster 50's! Sounds like a good setup and should sound nice and mellow - a mean mellow. Curious....what is the muffler shop charging for the total install? I'm curious so tht I can cost compare and plan $$ wise.

I have to wait for the weather to warm up a little and for the streets to dry out around here. I'm anxious to have this work completed, but I don't want to drive my car in crappy weather conditions. That's what happens when you live in WI.
