Default Complete AC system?

I need to replace/upgrade my AC system and was wondering if anyone sales the complete system or do I have to buy it separately? The car sat for seven years before I bought it and I’ve been restoring/upgrading it a little at a time for the past year and a half.

There are others too. Search the archives for AC discussions, search goole or yahoo. Some people on the forum have used these vendors and can give you some feedback.

why do you have to replace the whole system.. My 81 sat for 12 years and still had freon in it when I put it back on the road..If the compressor works try and vacuum the system if it hold a a vacuum add Envir safe freon replacement..one 6 oz can equals 18 oz. of freon 12..go to er-refridgerants.com

The kits are for cars w/o A/C. GM is known for excellent A/C.
I changed to a different compressor.

Normally if low on freon, they will not engage. See if compressor turns w/ engine off using a rachet at the center front nut.

try to jump the pressure switch in the low pressure line.. the compressor will not engage if there is no freon in the system.. if you jump it do not let it run long ..you can damage the compressor ..when you jump it and it still won't engage check and see if the plug fell off the a/c switch under the console..after that if it still won't engege put 12 volts and a ground to the clutch coil if it doesn't work, then the clutch is bad
