69 upper dash pad question

Default 69 upper dash pad question

Im looking on ebay for a good upper dash pad and I see 68 69 upper pads but they dont have the speeker holes, I thought 68 didnt have speekers but 69 did, Even the new ones for 69 dont seem to have them. Please correct me if im wrong here.

69's did not have speaker holes. i beleive the dash pad in my 69 is from a 71, which has speaker holes.

Yes.....they are interchangeable.

Why not just use the stock location for front speakers in the '69.......the kick panels? They house the same 4"x6" speakers as in the dash...

And the speakers are much easier to get to in the kick panels.

Default Dash Panel

If you buy an aftermarket dash panel, I don't know if the speaker housings (bolt-on framework that the 4"x6" speakers mount to) come with them. They will if you find a salvaged factory panel. You can always re-skin and/or re-dye to your interior color. I put new speakers in my '71 dash AND I also put speakers in the kick panels. Sounds great for an original Delco radio.
