Does anyone offer a kit or know of anyone in the Seattle area who can make a 75 back window come down or come out like the 68-72 coupes? I want to keep my car pretty stock, but thats a feature I think is super cool and really wish I had. I have been searching the internet and cant find any information, hoping someone had a link. Thanks in advance
I want to do that to my 76 as well. I know that someone here has done it, but would sure like to find a kit or at least detailed instructions on how to do it.
I did mine last year. I bought the window and spring clips on Ebay. Don't know where else to get the window. The whole job took less than a day start to finish. Remove the old window. I removed all the interior panels and the trim. window gasket was cut with a box cutter, and the window popped out in one piece. (save everything for the next person). The window has 2 prongs on the bottem. these set in two holes that were put in at the factory and were covered by the trim.
Put in a new gasket with weather strip adheasive. The gasket is too long and needs to be cut. Make sure the cut is at the top in the middle, and glue the ends with adheasive. The window is swung up into position and 2 spring clamps are locked into the down position. The mounting brackets were already in place. all I had to do was drill holes and screw the clips into them in. The header trim panels need to be cut to clear the spring clips. Best mod I have done. The window only goes back when I wash the car or for winter storage
