No restoration here :-( don't have the patience! I did the engine, A/C System, tranny, brakes and suspension - and now I'm just enjoying the hell outta driving it. Last Summer I did the interior too, using new leather, carpet and trim pieces.
Can't think of anything that would make me wanna pull the body off the frame, short of wrecking the car. In that event it's possible ... but that's just me.
Obviously there's a lot of you on this forum that have more money and/or patience than I do! Truth be known though I'm into her now for well over 20K on this piece-by-piece basis, so if I had the patience, my end result would sure have been better dollar for dollar, with a frame off.

...But i think what gets me the most is that the local corvette club requires you to have a running corvette in order to join....
Find another Corvette club. Our club only requires that a potential member have an interest in the Corvette. Actual ownership of a Corvette or a Corvette in running condition is not required for membership. Granted, membership in a Corvette club without a Corvette is akin to kissing your sister, but there is merit in having members with garage cars.
In the middle of a frame off myself! Have the running rolling chassis done with side exit headers on it. Doing the last details on the underside of the body so I can put it on the frame and start the bodywork and fitting the doors and front clip.
I am in the middle....well actually towards the beginning.... of a total rebuild of my 68 coupe. It was in a house fire and was pretty much totalled out. But I am trying to restore it back to its glory. Check the links in my signature to see what I am starting with.
Right now I have the left side fender, hood and new firewall installed. Next I have the right side fender to put on. Then I will pull the body and do a frame off restore of the frame. I am also rebuilding the steering column, seats and dash.
I'm almost finished with an engine rebuild and forced restoration that's been going on for about a year. Fixing things as I find them, seems to be no end of things to fix. Can't wait to fire it up.
Add me to the long list of active "restorers".
Firewall cleaned & painted while 406 is being built.
Tunnel & entire fiberglass bottom cleaned & left natural.
Currently glassing in a new battery box (no pics yet) and painting & re-sealing the evap box. Is this stuff fun or what?

Seems like there are fewer and fewer pure NCRS restorations and more resto-mods that restore the body to near OE appearance but include LS-1s, 5 speeds and 17 inch wheels.
The local club seems to have two camps: the do it yourself guys who rebuild and race their own cars and the C5, C6 guys who write big checks for mods or satisfy themselves with wax jobs. When I wa sactive several years ago, it was more of the former. Now it's more of the latter.
been about 32 yrs for me, playing with my '58.....might be all put back together this year......then paint......priorities,priorities.......: cheers: jim....
But i think what gets me the most is that the local corvette club requires you to have a running corvette in order to join. Ergo to get any help, we can't even join the club for help.
I am kinda neutral on corvette clubs, ie maybe fine for some folks, but just not for me... but that is really effed up!! Have you tried your local NCRS chapter? That can be a crap shoot too because you could run into people that don't think a 75 is worth restoring but you are more likely to find people that are into restoring and preserving any and all corvettes and are very helpful at that.
I have been slowly restoring the things I can while still being able to drive my 76 for the summer. I hope to pull the engine this winter.
I did redye some of my interior (look at the kick plate cover) over last winter but if you look at my picture the colors don't match. I don't like the "new" buckskin that is supposed to be the original, and I can't seem to match the dash color so I might switch to black interior. My car was originally yellow and I hope to paint it in the next few years.
Plenty of "restoring" here. Man, it hurts the pocketbook.....
Good luck on yours, I would be glad to swap notes anytime you would care to. I am certainly not an expert but it is very enjoyable. This is my first vette.
Well, it gets the job done for about a year now, And its easy to roll around and over bumps, grass or whatever. Its a wood 4X4 frame that has pads that sit up inside the rockers at the no2 & no3 mount points (no4 mount is unsupported so I could rebuild them). The wood frame sits on a steel chassis that is steerable and towable by hand or mower with large front riding mower tires. Basically it is the front frmes of 2 mowers back to back with only one axle steerable. Took a day to build and was free minus the welding rods.
here's another one .been at my 75 part time for almost 5 years, rebuilt motor, headers, tranny, rear end, interior, paint, brakes, and on and on.added a few go fast goodies so the five-0 pony boys can't make me look bad, performance before the rebuild was pathetic at best.
i'm so close to having it streetable i can taste it.but as close as i am,there's still a small list to be done so it can be appraised for insurance purposes.I seem to have lost the "urge"again.I am so close, but with small kids and summer trips in the near future,i can't see the outlay for plates, appraisels, insurance etc happening anytime soon so i am kind of discusted that it may not be this year again.
there's a pic after paint on my avatar, can't even look at the before pics any more.

Only if you want to spend 5 hours alone masking all the hoses, wires, rivits, screw heads, and pesky little grommits. I'm nuts... I know...but I shudder when I see those things on the firewall painted.
Thanks for the compliment Len...

Full body-off restoration here as well..........a long........long........long......long.. ......restoration.....I am on year 3, and all I have done so far is remove the interior and engine, rear bumpers. Body coming off soon though, maybe in a month or 2.
Seems like there are fewer and fewer pure NCRS restorations and more resto-mods that restore the body to near OE appearance but include LS-1s, 5 speeds and 17 inch wheels.
Not complaining, just observing.....
In the case of my 73 - Great car, except for the engine. Needs a much more powerful engine to go with the rest of the car. If it was a 70 LT-1 might have considered a NCRS type rebuild.
