My speedo only goes to 85...
I've taken it to like 4500 in 3rd gear, though...
According to the Keisler speed analyzer my TKO-600 5-speed (.68 OD) with 3.08 rear end and 295/50/15 tires will be hitting 265 MPH @ 7000 RPM.
I would probably have to lift around 240 MPH

With your tire size, rear gears and TKO gearing, you'd hit 190 mph at 5000 RPM in 5th gear
I have gone 115 with my 1970 454 BB but got a little nervous, I need to replace some of the dry rotted rubber mount bushings and mabe new shocks befor pushing it faster.
i dont have a speedo or tach in my car right now (ok, hasnt been one in it for over 25 years...) so i cant say exactly. all i know is that the C6 behind me took a picture of the group of us, and you can see he was doing 70 in hte picture. the rest of us were all pulling away.
of course, looking back on it now, it may not have been the smartest idea. the entire suspension is well over 20 years old. the only thing new is brakes and tires. i would have gone faster but i didnt want to push the motor too hard. felt incredibly stable at those speeds too.
Same here with the 6th speed. Somewhere around 165 would be my top speed. I've only had up to 125+ with the old 350 on the Nascar track. No speedometer now, which makes it easy to not know and not be scared of it.
I've been about 110 in my 72 vert with top down, and it scared the **** out of me. Funny I got put in jail for doing 164ish when I was young and dumb(that was in a souped up 86 trans am, which was extremely smooth..no brakes though . The vette scared me b/c my father was driving and forgot that the calipers needed to be replaced..we almost ended up in a cotton field where the road T'd.
140 on I35W going to Ft Worth. A BMW 5 series and I were pacing each other. I got nervous about getting a ticket and shut her down after 20 miles or so and he kept going. When I got to the outskirts of Ft. Worth guess who was on the shoulder with the blues flashing....you got it, a 5 series BMW.
My boss (woman) years ago had a 69 350/350 4 speed that used to let me take the car all the time. One night we were hauling down the thruway with the top down and got her up to 148mph before I let off and asked her how old the tires were. Young Dumb and full of you know what back then.
These days I have a 71 350/270 4 speed that hauls *** - but I let off around 125mph because I don't want to break anything. And yes my tires are new ! Plus my tach isn't working either.
