Sounds like someone is in a REALLY bad mood. If all you wanted was a fast car then buy a kit car and pimp it out. There is a family and history involved with vettes and sorry you don't want to be a part of it.
I think there are alot of Trans Am/Vette owners. I for one am one and often forget which car I am in and will always wave when I see a vette and sometimes I am in the TA at the time.
I was driving my Saturn to work yesterday and saw a C2 come up to a light going in the opposite direction. I gave a and a wave, and I own a Vette. Just wasn't driving it that day...
I think the wave is absolutely a FUN thing to do. I always try to appreciate old classic cars, especially if it's something that a lot of blood, sweat & tears have gone into building. Everyone enjoys seeing these old cars on the road because it's DIFFERENT.
I think Bismarck must not enjoy being a Vette owner, or enjoy showing pride in his Vette, or worse, is embarassed by his car if he doesn't want to partake in the Vette family/camaraderie that all of us have.
About 5 years ago, I was dating a female who used to tell me that she hated my vette because vettes were for dorks and dweebs who are trying to impress other people. I tried to explain to her that impressing people was not at all what I liked about the cars. She never quite understood my point of view and vice versa as well. Now, I am beginning to see what she meant. Not that it matters; I will not sell my stock. However, I will probably be a bit self conscious that others might think I am a dork when they see me driving. I suppose it is a strong tradition that one man cannot change. There is an inertia that, though corny as hell, has obviously brought joy and brotherhood to those involved. Are these people dweebs? Indeed, they are. Yet, they are happy and who can argue with that?

YEAH ! what he said...
I wave at all vettes and all classic cars... because i realize the trouble that goes into keeping them up.
Like I expected my opinion to be in the majority? Go back and read my first post. I knew it would be an unpopular opinion but I would rather be an outcast in a herd of nerds than to fit in among them. I am sure that some people agree, even if it is only a small amount. However, I doubt they will have the ***** to speak out about it. It doesn't take any character to follow the crowd. I am obviously in the minority but that does not make me wrong, in my opinion.
Sounds like you need to hit the lecture circuit...by the way...can you post a picture of your vette ? Your profile is....blank...
Blank profile, negative personality, definitely insecure, especially that remark about the whole thing being gay.
If I see another rod, or a nice cycle, Corvette or not, they get some form of acknowledgement from me, a wave, a thumbs up, a nod of the head, maybe even a short race to the next traffic light.
I like being acknowledged/seen in my car(s).
You can keep your head in the sand if you want, or keep your car in your driveway. That way you won't have to "wave" at anyone and embarrass yourself.
JMO
Better make it a Civic ... not sure he even deserves a MustangII with that attitude.
Also, we should consider a ban on offering any information or help to our
not-gay "friend". Apparently, he does not embrace the family like we do.
Better yet, offer false information.
Like my mother always said,
If you don't have something good to say, then shut the fu*k up.
Well, I've been on the forum for over a year, reading, before i bought my vette.
I appreciate the vette and love others who own one...
what the original poster said, is not something a vette enthusiast would say.
cheers Marty
not calling you a noob, calling bizmark a noob.

I agree with you there. I was wondering what I did to be considered a noob I too have been here a while although I did not actually join and pay my membership until I actually bought my vette last October. I for one will give Bismarck another chance. It's fine to not be into the vette family or traditions if you don't want to be....but to bash them and say people who do that stuff are dorks....thats wrong. There are always people who are stuck up and aquire things for their 'status symbol' and vettes definately do have their own status, but as a majority I have never met a better bunch of car people than the vette family.
hell i wave at nice old cars as well. I see someone driving a nice rod or muscle car i give them the wave to show i appreciate the effort they went through to keep a nice looking classic on the road.
When you consider that you are (for all intents and purposes) a blank slate with regard to your profile, that you talk a lot of **** and offer nothing but the most puerile observations, 3 pages of people telling you to get a life...
There can be only one reasonable conclusion: It IS bad.
Only a person who is utterly impervious to logic and reason, would think otherwise.
Get a life, get a haircut, be somewhat useful to society...
