Rik's is one of the better Corvette parts supply places, in my opinion. They have the same stuff as everyone else (and some that the others don't have), prices are reasonable, you can order over the phone and delivery is usually very promp (if not on backorder). I've never had a problem with them.
Rik has been kicked off my list of suppliers. I sometimes return stuff if it's not up to standards,..and much of the repo stuff shouldn't be sold,..by anybody.
But Rik has a 15% restocking fee. I think that's unreasonable since we're purchasing parts sight-unseen. So if you ever return an item to Rik, you'll pay for shipping both ways plus this 15% restocking fee. That's not my idea of customer service.
All the other vendors I deal with gladly return my money to my credit card for returned parts.
i have also gotten many part from RIK'S. Everyone can tell you a story about a bad experience with a parts store. only you can jude the service you rec. i will buy more from Rik's, as well as the rest of them.

I bought some emblems for my old '82 that were so bad I sent them back - certainly not Rik's fault (I doubt he ever saw them - drop shipped from China most likely) but why should I be charged a 15% restocking fee for his resale of sub-standard parts? Took my business elsewhere.
BTW, his catalogs are great (although I haven't seen one in some time - guess I'm off his Christmas card list ), almost like the assembly manual - good stuff for exploded views and sub-assemblies.
Personally, I have been dealing with Rik and Laurie since they got into the business and have never had a problem. Like posted before, some reproduction parts are aweful, but thats the chance we all take.
I disagree totally with "that's the chance we take".
Again, you usually don't have any idea what the fit and quality level of a part is (or isn't) when you call an 800 number, place your order, and read off your credit card number.
Why should you assume liability for an inferior part?...why should Rik's profit from a returned sub-standard part and from disatisfied customer who's out 15% plus shipping both ways?
Fortunately, Rik has plenty of competition.
Additionally,..as I stated above there's a lot of crap parts being pushed at us, sold by most the vendors. You should have seen some wheel well molding I purchased for a 69 Camaro...bad beyond description,..shouldn't be on the market, period. I think it's good to raise some hell about the junk being sold. In time, somebody will decide to improve the part or perhaps another manufacturer will be asked to come up with an improved repo. A bit OT,..but,
My opinion.
