the a/c cars had a metal plate sealing the rear vents off in the back, non-ac cars had a vacuum door that opened depending on what the heater control was set to. non-ac cars also had cable controlled intake vents behind the kick panels, a/c cars had the drivers side sealed shut and the passenger side was used for fresh air mixing with the conditioned air. but all cars that had the option had the astro-ventilation glass, and from the sounds of it they kept using it till it was gone after they dropped the system.
my 73's glass says astro vent. but the car came w/ a /c so its didnt have the true astro vent,,it came w/ non a /c cars used the same glass and rear grills were non functional
Just checked the numbers on my 76 and it does have LOF printed diagonally and then has LX on the drivers side and the passengers side has GX printed. So I guess from the previous numbers list mine would have been made in March and April of 1968. Suprising that glass made in 68 would be in a car from 76 but I guess it is original.
Thanks for the info on the Astro Ventilation glass and why it is on my car.
