Default Good Source for Torque specs.

I'm working on a 78 and need a good source for 'ALL' torque specs on the car.
I have an assembly manual and a chiltons manual but my issues are these.
The assembly manual isn't in Foot lbs and only has certain items specified. My chiltons manual only seems to have engine torque specifications and a few other odds and ends.
Can anyone out there give me a good source for everything on the car??

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

My Haynes has everything. (the C3 vette specific manual)
For example, if you look at the beginning of the front suspension section.
It has about 1.5 pages of torque spec listings.
Other sections are similar.

My AIM has some specs as stated ... tough to find the right page.
What do you mean, not in ft-lbs ? Are they in in-lbs ? Divide by 12, if so.

I believe it was Nml, but I'm not sure because I don't have the book in front of me. It appeared to be something other than inch or foot pounds. dividing by 12 would have given me less than 10 foot pounds on the front ball joints. And less than 30 on the lower control arms. I Know that's not right. Don't believe it was inch pounds. The numbers given would not coincide with the foot pounds I did manage to find. Maybe some metric numbers???

It's the best source for older cars and they are easily obtainable through swap meets, ebay, and Vette parts places.

i have a haynes, chilton, and the assembly manual, I'm pretty sure all 3 have torque specs for just about everything. I usually grab the haynes manual first because they break it all out in the beginning of each chapter so its easy to find, where chilton buries it in the text. Not sure about the 79 AIM, but the 73 has specs in ft-lbs or in-lbs for just about every single bolt on the car, the only issue is finding the right page. Did they start switching over to metric fasteners by 78? even if that is the case, most torque wrenches I've seen have metric scales on them you could use if you had to.

1 Foot-pound = 1.355 N-M

You need the Haynes manual (as stated) and a calculator.

I have never seen a real GM shop manual that didn't contain enough torque specs. I would look again. If the units don't suit you, look on the 'net for a free program called "convert". It will convert most anything to whatever units you like.

Someone had a printout of all the torque specs for every bolt and nut on a C3. I got it and printed it out, it was a long time ago I will see if I can find it tommorrow.

Thank you all for the great info.
Motorhead, that doc would be great help if you can find it.
Looks like I'll be picking up a Hayes manual today at lunch.
I did find some torque specs in my current manual last night while looking through it, but chiltons seems to be selective on their provided information in that area.
As for the shop manual, looked on ebay and couldn't find one for a 78, but I'll keep looking.

Thanks again.

Thanks A Million MotorHead! Between this and my manuals I can't imagine there's a spec I don't have now.

Took a look at that site. Quite a bit of other useful information there as well.

Thanks again,

Jeff

I printed the torque specs out and put them in my HAynes manual, I can't stand looking for torque specs in that manual
