My 82's re-assembly photos

I hope you didn't get coating on the pitman arm splines, latches or in the wiper relay rods...will be a pita to get it all out. I love how it all turned out. I too did most of my parts like that (blasted & powdercoated black)...they've been lying around for years and have been flawless since (and a few are going back on the car)
Keep up the awesome work : thumbs:

Shazamm.... Parts, parts, parts and more parts. Car is gonna rock when done but we all know that!!!
The hard work is gonna more than pay off though. As the saying goes, it's all in the details. And you got it all.

Thanks for all the compliments! The parts look alot better in person than in the photos. They have a much deeper shine and smoothness than what is shown.
Going over to take photos of the painting process. I will post them tonight.

Man you've got to put some paint photos up ASAP, everything so far is top notch work, I have a question though (please don't take it the wrong way), are you saving any money by powder-coating the parts yourself or are you just trying to do as much of the work yourself?
Either way you're doing awesome work and will have a perfect car when it's done.

I remember reading in another thread a while ago about a guy who was doing wide rear tires and he had the same problem with tire rub on the sway bar. His solution was to heat up the bends on the bar and bend them in slightly for clearance, apperantly it worked for him and you might want to give it a shot. You will probably have to paint the sway bar though since it will be charred. Do a search and see if you can find it.

Paint - 12/20/06
Here are photos from the Body Shop today. The bumpers and smaller items are in finish primer, they will be painted on Friday with flex agent.
I had to leave early today and could not stay around while the LeMans Blue was sprayed. Jimmy got the primer sanded and cleaned, then sprayed two coats of Glass Black for the base. All PPG products are being used.

Sorry if I missed it somewhere but which Lemans Blue are you going with? The early (69) Lemans Blue or the later C5 Lemans Blue?
Like I Said a dozen times before, looking great and can't wait to see the finished product. Do you have a timeframe?

I choose the C6 LeMans Blue Metallic after seeing it 1 1/2 years ago at Carlisle on a new ZO6 Vette. The way the paint lays on the Vettes curves, giving off different hues of the color was sweet.
No real time frame, but will probably be done for show/cruising season in late Spring here in Maryland. I never wanted a time pressure when I started this project because I knew if I had rushed things I would not be totally satisified with the end results. I had a plan going in but I have a tendency to tweek things as I progress. I had a 67 Camaro 20 years ago and wished I had done numerous things different. With the Vette, always being my dream car since I was a kid, I had the luxury of being older, wiser, and a little more $$$.
Love the progress on your project. Have you narrowed the color selection?
