Default Powermaster Starters

thinking of getting a powermaster XS mini starter to try to correct heat soak problem with stock starter and headers. i notice the fittings on the mini are oriented differently than stock connections. end of battery cable on my 79 has and "L" shaped fitting which fits perfectly for stock starter. looks like i'll need to adapt it to fit the mini's connectors since they are oriented differently. is something available commercially or will i just have to make something myself? also, i notce powermaster sells "shims" for their starters. am i going to need to shim the mini or should it just bolt on?

I have the Powermaster XS Torque on my '69......I just bolted it on and it has worked great for a few years now. I did not need to shim it. The shims are available if the starter doesn't line up correctly with the flywheel. If your stock starter has no shims, the new one shouldn't need them either.

I've got this starter in three cars,..excellent starter. I pay $85 from OE Supply,..less than an AC Delco, half the weight, and much stronger.
