Is it wrong putting Stingray side fender emblem on a '79 Corvette? The body is a C3 but the Stingray fender emblems were only built on '69 to '76 vettes. I understand if I was restoring the car this would be wrong. My intentions are to cruise in the car so I figured all C3 emblems would be acceptable to use. I'm new to this forum and new to the Vette family.
Is it wrong to put a ZR1 emblem on an LT1? Is it wrong to put
a GrandSport emblem on any/all 96s, is it wrong to put PaceCar
decals on a 73? I guess there is no answer....its your car!
My emblems are faded so when I repaint my car next season and I figured I replace my emblems. The Stingray emblem is so much sharper than the flags which are already on the car twice. If I were a purist I wouldn't have purchased a '79 with a MP3 playing CD player installed in dash. My concern was that putting the stingray fender emblems would be equivalent to putting ZR1 emblems on a LT1. Thanks for the search history and advise.

A Stingray is ....... well, a Stingray
If I owned a 68' I would not put a Stingray emblem on it just as I wont put the L-82 or 454 badge on my L-48 hood
I'm sure GM diddnt run out of Stingray emblems in 68' or 79' (I will say that 68' bieng a new model may have been an exception)
Obviosly Stingray was not an option or an RPO code
But its your car and your call... It means nothing to the car,it's just an emblem.
Nowhere in the interior of my 73' is the word CORVETTE found.... Should I find some decals?
Nope........ I know what it is and thats all I care.
Actually they are sort of repulsive...

Just don't put a ricer emblem on it and you will be ok with us! I bought a couple of the shark emblems to put on my car if I ever get around to painting it.

It's sorta like continuing to put apostrophes AFTER the year (68') instead of in front where they belong.

People do it, but it's so wrong.
Maybe you can find something more productive to add to this fine forum other than to break ***** about the correct place for an apostrophe
Maybe your wrong...ever think of that?
Unreal.......... thats your contribution to this thread?
Ill have to see if I can find my 4th grade english teacher and ask her what she thinks
