Default C3s with stripes

woohoo first time posting in the C3 section. I have a C4 but am ready to purchase my second vette. I have been loking at a yellow 76 that needs the rear bumper replaced. I have a friend that owns a body shop that will repaint a new for me, but was thinking that I may ask to put a nice stripe down the middle(over hood, roof and rear deck/tail).

Anyone have any pics of a C3 with stripes?

That is evil.

Putting a stripe right down the middle of your car will give all the mustang owners a sense of pride. It may look nice, but do you really want to put smiles on the faces of the FORD guys?

I've got stripes down the middle of my Vette. I think it looks pretty good.

See my gallery (My Corvette Photos).

Thanks freeway...I really like it..kinda looks like the Baldwin Motions. As far as looking like....eh, ford, I don't think so. So the 63 and 96 Grandsports are trying to imitate a Ford Mustang? The stripes and hashmarks, while not only looking good, were a way to tell the team cars apart from one another. So, in my opinion, if has to do with racing, I am ok with it.

Stripes have been put on Vettes since the fifties. I guess when someone saw a vette in 1959 with stripes, their first thought was "he's copying the mustang look".

Red and black are my two favorite colors and I grabbed some shots of this vette at this years 'Vettes On The Rockies' up in Breckenridge Colorado.

i don't know about that... everytime i get next to a mustang on the street, i get a great sense of pride just being in my vette. if i had a baldwin motion inspired single stripe down the middle like jugs, skunks, the red and yellow verts...for me, it would just add to it.

Any excuse

It's hard to get the stripes looking good at the rear of a rubber-bumper model, IMO, so here's what I came up with. I'm pretty pleased with it.

There's a pin-stripe along the outer edges of the two stripes (it's hard to see in the photos), and this makes the design, as far as I'm concerned. Without those pin stripes it doesn't look half as good. Little things like the body-colour gas cap and hood vent also make a subtle positive difference.
