I love my 4 speed it makes my vette a real Sports car. Someday I will find a way to get a 5 or 6 speed overdrive. Buying the 6 speed is not a problem its the cost of getting it over here. I wonder if it will fit in my suitcase?

Dean, do you know or are friends with any military guys stationed there? They can ship stuff cheap and almost free sometimes. I would suggest having one of them have a tranny shipped to you from the states and save you a few bucks.
1 - bracket racing with computerized automatics is more consistent (if not sissified)
2 - the hole in the ozone layer has allowed radiation to destroy most male macho hormones, thus only a few real men still exist, and these obviously drive stick shifts.
You automatic guys have to wait for your tranny to decide to shift ...
Well said my good man, you hit the nail right on the head.
I have both. The beauty of later automatics is that you are always within a tenth of a second of being in the right gear! When someone tries to snake you on an onramp you just hit it and you’re gone. If you have a 4/5 speed you are still dicking around with realizing the situation and then finding the gear you should be in and by that time it's all over. I love 4 speeds for the sizzle and the feel of driving but in a little city shoot out (which 98% of this is all about) you can't beat a quick down shifting auto.

"Real sports cars have 2 doors, 2 seats and 4 speeds"
When was GM's first 4 spd manual? I know my 1978 Dodge D100 had the first 4 spd manual in Dodge Production truck.
Edit: I can't read either. First Borg Warner T-10 4 speeds were first built in April 57 and subjectively started about SN 4500. They didn't make into passenger cars until 59.

Like in the 50's... I think the vette had one in like '58 or somewhere around there.
From wikipedia:
"Other early options included power windows (1956), hydraulically operated power convertible top (1956), four speed manual transmission (mid 1957), and heavy duty brakes and suspension (1957)."
