Default Bumpers

What is the best way to scuff/paint the black bumpouts on the rubber bumper cars. My 78 has very good except for the rubber bumper bumpouts which are yellowing. I just want to touchup the black bumpouts for now. Thanks

Your local automotive paint store probably sells SEM paint products in aerosol cans. SEM makes the correct semi-gloss black and no primer is required.

Clean it with wax and grease remover, scuff the area with a red Scotchbrite pad, clean with glass cleaner, then with wax and grease remover again and spray the black. The surface needs to be clean, in case you or some else has used any type of silicone based preservative on the urethane in the past. Good luck.

Thanks for the Thank you. Would you mind painting mine as well. I've had so many "other people car projects" since I redid my bumpers they are going on 2 years now.

Sure, send them down and I'll get right on it. Can't guarantee succes x 2 though.
