Problem with restoring 007 is that the car is missing the distinctive parts that make it unique, namely the body! The body of the C-3 was replaced, and with a far later one. The plain body of the 007 car is worth something, but what is the vin alone worth?

But of course!!! That's a much better angle than selling it as a "very early " vette. It should be sold as,

"The 007 corvette"

or.... the BOND corvette..... or...

in this case...

the BONDO corvette!! One of a kind!!!

The name is Bondo, James Bondo, But you can call me.... Bubba!

I'd say #007 was a pilot line car, probably the AC big block as hinted in the listing. While the VIN has to catch your eye, the history of this car and how it managed to end up in Texas would be a large part of her value.

Yes, but only if you are a serious collector. You'd need $40,000 at least to bring it back to original, if even possible (orig block - where is it?), and then have a car that may not break $45,000 unless everything makes a big jump in price.

Now what would be cool is if it were the blue big block coupe Zora doctored for the press to keep it cool. But with so much original bodywork gone, you'd have nothing really important to show. You couldn't show the very cuts Zora did or the taping of holes or other work. You could only show what you did to simulate Zora's work.

Sort of like this is the actual bed that George Washington slept in versus this is a replica of a bed that George Washington slept in.

My thoughts exactly and I agree we will probably never know for sure.

Can we anticipate another Pro-Team resoration, mega marketing and then Barrett Jackson 6 figure sale price like the way the last 67 is being marketed?

You wouldn't need to spend 40k or even make it original...all you need to do is make it shiny (polish it up & take some decent photos for a start.... ), make it driveable and market it hard as 007....then, as capevettes has already said, the Pro Team & Barrett Jackson investors will come knocking on your door....if done properly, and depending on the reserve this seller wants, you could turn an easy profit in a very short time....
