No, thats just a new door panel. They don't have the holes in them so you can do either manual or electric. The shaved kit is for the outside handles, clean and smooth on the outside, you use a remote to open the doors
i still dont have my poppers working... i bought 50 pounds selenoids and couldnt get a good angle on the lock to release the latch...... i might have to take in to a hot-rod shop and have them do it...... my friend said something about cadillac latches or soemthing...i cant remember.......

well, when i did take the car out, i left the windows down or tops off..... i locked myself out once already....... but now i have a few trickies to prevent that
Any tips on how to do this right, onaqwst? This is one of my top projects, and would like to learn from the master of it!
no master here...... i just do it and learn on the way.....
i know that i had issues with the angle of the pull for the latch and clearance for the window........ not sure if i can swap out the latch............ if you see how much moment force you need to pop the latch, you will see that the angle is tricky.............
Make sure you install a cable pull as a backup. I had a shaved kit on my S10, and had to pull the back window out a few times to get in when the solenoids didn't work. I used a cheap set from Schucks, it was 15 years ago though. I will use Autoloc when I put them in my 48 street rod.
I have never done one, helped a bud fix his once, small electrical prob. Have seen a few done tho. Saw one on a 34 ford coupe once, very slick, guy had a pass card type of gizmo that opened the window, just hold it close to the door where the handle would have been and the window slid down.
basic question: What size are the nuts on the door handles? It's a total pain to get in there! Also, how does one remove the key lock? How did ya do the actual glasswork, did you just patch it from the inside, then ad layers and sand down?

Are you talking about the nuts holding the outside door handles on? If so they are 7/16.To remove them and gain easier access remove the 3 phillips screws holding the lock in and lower it a little.

Thanks for the responses from all, I haven't checked back because I've been out of town. I see a few of you have installed the kits, how difficult was it? I found a compay that makes the kit already installed on a bracket and all you have to do is mount it. I ordered it so when I get and start the install I post some pictures.
