Default remote starter connection

sorry for the very stupid question, but when connecting a remote starter (to bump the engine), the red wire goes to battery, and the black wire goes I'm assuming to a connection on the starter solenoid? which one? I see 2 - one with very big black wire and one with a small wire.

You're close, put one clip on the big starter lead and the other on the small starter lead.If your car is old and original enough,it may have a resistor bypass terminal on the solenoid as well, just ignore that one.

ther's two small wires on the solenoid. one is S (start) the other is R (run). you want to put 12 volts on the S terminal. hook one wire from your switch to the big starter wire that goes to the battery, the other on the S terminal. don't forget to pull the coil wire to prevent starting.

Just in case make sure it's out of gear, or in park with the brake set and wheels chocked. Don't ask me how I know.
