Default Willcox update

In a previous post I advised against buying from Willcox due to a problem a couple of years ago. Willcox contacted me and is going our of their way to make it up. I bought one hood insert then and had problems with quality and return postage. They are now sending me TWO new inserts at no extra charge, paying back the postage it cost me before plus extra and covering return postage.

I like dealing with Willcox. I have had issues with some orders taking a while to get filled but I don't think it was totally their fault. They have to order parts from other sources.

I think they will do their best to fix a problem if they can.

I give them and they are my preferred Corvette parts supplier.

Glad you got your problem worked out CoolShark.

More likely than not the only reason is that they are now on this forum
and aware of lost business from improper handling. My question now is why didn`t they help you 2 years ago?

Evidently I never got through to the "top dog." At the time, he was out a lot due to iillness. He has assured me he has taken steps to correct the problems for future customers. I prefer to give the benefit of the doubt.

I've bought from them and was pleased with product, price, and delivery.

HOWEVER ,,,, There were TONS of complaints about their "customer service"
before they became a forum vendor.
It doesn't surprise me what happened back then ,,,, and it doesn't
surprise me now that they are trying to clean up the mess(es).

Well, good for you and good for them. Hopefully problems like this are all in the past.

I only buy from Willcox and I'm up here in Canada. I trust them 100%. I've never had a problem. I remember the first order I placed. Entire interior...I told them what I wanted and they told me what I needed. Nothing worse then not having everything to do a proper install.

As a matter of fact back before they were a member I directed them to this site.

No one is perfect and everybody makes mistakes but the measure of a good vendor , in my opinion, is how they rectify their mistakes.
I have never had a problem with Wilcox and would use them again.
Last time I looked, I was not perfect and when I screw up I want people to give me a chance to make it right.
Glad it worked out for you.

I just ordered $600+ from them today. They were to get back to me on total amount,I called back once for the total and was told they would call me back again. Still waiting 10 hours later. No big deal, but they didn't do what they said they would.

So far I have had a pretty good deal with Willcox, except for my last order. They backordered me a flasher and fuse set...no problem right?... Ok so I pay for the order AND shipping of the stuff that they do have....a few weeks go by and the I get the flasher and fuse set and ANOTHER charge for shipping... this time the shipping is more than the part. I know that it is not there fault that the part was back ordered, and they have no control of shipping prices, but they shipped it priority without calling me first. If I had know that I was going to pay AGAIN for shipping, I would have ordered more stuff from them. I am seriously considering ordering from Riks......

There is too much competition in this market to make continuous mistakes and treat costumers rudely. I always give the next vendor a first chance before I'll go back and give a second chance.

I just got my two hood inserts, a check refunding the old return postage and a postage-free label to return the old inserts by 2nd-day air. I suggest if you have a problem like double postage, contact Ernie. Worked for me.

I've ordered a couple of times with them recently. My only complaint is the guy taking the orders over the phone....bad phone skills for sure.

I used to manage a large call center....bad phone skills/service really bugs me.

Yesterday I received my 3rd order from Wilcox. One of the items in my last order was a window lift rebuild kit. Opened the box...no window lift rebuild kit to be found. I called Wilcox, Perry I think, told him about the missing item and he said he'd take care of it.

I've spent alot of money on items from Wilcox...both interior and exterior items, and I couldn't be more satisfied. Most of the time the prices can't be beat.

I'll post again when I get my window lift rebuild kit.

I have been ordering car parts for years and a lot of othr stuff too, had a few problems now and then, Overall it has been good, the vendors made it right. When I had customers mostly they understood sometimes screwups happen. What is important is how it is handled after the screwup, anyone can look good when things go right. Sounds like Wilcox got the message and is taking care of business

I got an e-mail from them concerning my previous post. Thought I was asking for prices. I don't give credit card info and mailing address when inquiring about prices. I answered them back stating what I wanted. It's no big deal as I stated and it looks like they are reading the forum and taking care of business. And I haven't forgot that they are giving me a special price on the din radio bezel because I am a forum member.
Thanks Wilcox.
