Brits Suck!
have any pudding if you don't eat yer meat?"

A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end!

I agree the title of the post should read Clarkson Sucks, not the Brits as a nation, i watch top gear every week and to be honest Clarkson has a typical British humour, a humour that most other countries just dont get, put that down to culture.
Most of what he says is basically for affect, he stated on one show that all HGV drivers murder prostitutes (after 1 was prosecuted for doing just that), that again was for affect and man did it get some!
His views on cars normally have the negative for affect and the positive side is where the judgemnet is taken, he slags off all manufacturers, in fact Vaxhall refused to send a car to him for testing knowing he hated them and would give it a fair review, now thats cleared up he does review them fairly.
Back to the Vette, i remember the episode when he slagged of the car and in his defence (not taking sides just being true) he has on numerous occasions stated what a great car it is, he loved the looks, the power and handling on a three car test he insisted ontaking the vette cos he liked it so much.
There are many vettes of all ages in the UK, they always get attention and people love to see them
The thread obviously got a few people wound up with the 'slag the Brits' posts, picking fault and digging which i think was harsh, thankfully offset by the positive posts, so we're all happy

Seriously-Top Gear is a great show and does flog all cars, period. Credit is also given, such as when he reviewed the C6Z against the Audi R8. He dogged the Vette all through the piece, but in the end said you should buy the Vette over the Audi.
I also really liked his piece on the Aston Martin DB something or Vantage where he didn't have much to say about the car itself, a small British sports car with a big engine, other than he feels he is riding in a museum piece, a car with no future, then nothing good, nothing bad, just heaven.
The show has its moments.

Watch from about the 8:15 mark on.

This vid actually goes down the line of my post above, the **** take for affect, the actual assessment of the car i.e. fantastic, messing around in the middle and the conclusion.... "this is a master peice"

The irony is he said the Audi is overall a better car (7:30+ in the above clip), then said, "...you'd be bonkers to buy the Corvette, but that's why you should". Huh?
He said it's the 2nd time he has test drove one and each time something always falls apart, breaks, and pretty much says it's cheaply made.
I love the clip about the Bugatti Veyron though, worth a watch if you never seen it.
