I'd like to focus on getting the engine bay cleaned up, and take it to a few shows this summer. Here are a few pictures, ANY ideas would be greatly appreciated

Loom the wires, paint everything you can a nice neat color, and clean everything else. Hydroboost always looks nice. Did you say there were pics?
A Hydroboost is a hydraulic brake assist unit that replaces the vacuum booster. It runs off of power steering pressure instead of vacuum from the engine. You get very improved braking, and it's smaller and looks better behind the master.
my personal oppinoin is to get steel braided wires and (wow i feel dumb) the tubes that run under and arround the tube for the ram air, i dont know if they make those with steel braid on them or nit but i think it would clean it up REAL nice and durango i agree with him as well i painted my block "chevy orange" and it inhenced the look 3 fold in bout a 40 min process
I can't belive I am going to say this, but as stock as you have it now I would keep it that way, just clean it up as best you can. Use some mothers on all the aluminum, things like that.
nice car by the way
Thanks for the ideas, keep 'em coming if at all possible
My signiture didn't show in my first post, so I wanted to at least let y'all know the basics of the car. It's all stock except for a new power antenna, a c.d. player, and some dash speakers. Oh also the air conditioning was worked on, but other that those, she's completely stock.
Thanks again

Okay, well knowing the stock condition...you have two choices.
#1 - Clean up as best you can using paints, dyes, and solvents.
#2 - Remove unsightly components and 'Clear the room a bit.'
If you were not worried about a stock look and emissions there are a lot of things you can take out of there. The smog equipment takes up a lot of room, as well as the breather. Delete the smog pump and all the EGR crap and you'll get a lot of room. Remove the breather and get a drop base air cleaner. Loom wires together all neat and pretty. paint the block and engine compartment.
A lot can be done...but not if you want to keep it stock.

Agreed.
Here is an example with some of the stuff removed.
Still a work in progress. . .
I figure since I have the pictures already posted here, I'll ask just one more question.. I'm looking for some ideas for a color theme for the engine. I was thinking I want colors that really stand out against the dark brown. I was thinking I want the block chevy orange, with some lime green, and black paint accents, and polish everything I can. Any other ideas that would look good with the body color?

Where could one get this Hydroboost of which you speak ?
Don't paint anything any other color besides black, chevy orange, or sivler in an engine compartment
Edit: heres my NCRS survivor engine compartment. I'm in the process on smoothing the fire wall out and the drivers side is already done. I have about 15 hours on the drop base

You have a very nice engine compartment.....I would ditch the red and blue flex coverings......use Meguiar's Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner on anything rubber/plastic....Simple Green is a good grease dirt cleaner...but again it already looks very good.
