Good example for you "Custom" guys. What may look nice today, may look like s__t tomarrow. The very definition of "Classic", is that it stands the test of time.
This is true,I liked it when I was a kid and saw the movie.I'm not that fond of it now.I guess thats why us custom guy's are always changing our cars. Our tastes change too.I like classics and unmolested vettes, but have the need to see something new too.I would get bored seeing the same car different color/package all the time.(but thats just me.)Make no mistake though,I do appreciate a clean unmolested vette.
I'd put a bid down on it if it came up for sale. I love the movie and the car is important automotive history. But honestly I'd rather own the van from the movie, it has "ocean motion!"
My father in law brought the DVD for me cause he saw the word "Corvette' in the title. Its stars Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker). Its by no means a Classic movie, but I wouldn't call it a shocker. I always wanted a 73 stingray and upon seeing the movie and how ugly that 73 was It sort of scared me.
i was about 10 when the movie came out. thats all me and my friends talked about was that car for a long time. man, we loved that car. so, i still have little affection for the ol' girl. takes me back quicker than "the way back machine." the one on ebay is not even close. like someone already pointed out the movie car was right hand drive. it could have been a promo tool to send around the country though. there is still a guy that makes "corvette summer" body kits believe it or not. the kits like $15,000. annie potts' van in the movie was pretty cool.
NO from a car enthusiast perspective! I only saw it once & that was too much! If you are lucky you will be able to forget it! so as I recall
The good news is the garbage design car that looks like it was done by a child w/ no knowledge of cars appears little as it's stolen in the beginning of the movie & then he looks for it ... so there is no c....... summer & even the title is a fraud.

Probably correct!
Worst: the car & title of the movie.

I think Annie was whiffin' way to much coke back then. She must have been all of 85 lbs.Now the creator of that monstrosity had to have been wandering in the Mescalito deserts for many a days.
The original movie car was right hand drive. the one on e-bay is not.
The movie is a love story. Boy builds car. Boy loses car. Boy meets Girl. Boy finds car. Boy gets girl. Boy gets car.
Mark Hamill before he became Luke Skywalker, and Annie Potts as his wannabe hooker girlfriend. Not to be taken to seriously, or without some form of sedation.

I'm kind of sorry I know that.
I read somewhere years ago that the right hand drive conversion was done by leaving the steering box where it was and just moving the column to the right hand side. They (apparently) connected the column to the box with sprockets and a chain
People are drawn to road kill too but it don't mean they like it.It is an ugly piece of crap.Maybe if they lose that hood thing..............Naw it's still a piece of crap.
