I also have a neighbor with a '76 Vette who lives in a house about half a block from a stopsign. He told me that he can hear my car when I leave the stopsign and knows it's me because it sounds different than anything else in the hood..........
lol in the "hood", nice, im thinking im leaning twords the magna flows, or the flowmaster 40's, idk, i want it to b an aggressive GROWL at ALL rpm u said "its a bit louder than stock at highway speeds"
Which Magnaflow are you guys running? The link posted on page 1 of this thread looks like a discontinued item with $0 price.
I went through 4 different mufflers on my Hemi Ram and the Magnaflows won in the end. Most importantly for the drone of the Flowmasters. The Flows sound great when you're really on it but, when you're driving normal and trying to carry a conversation, it sounds like someone is humming in your ear. The vibration makes you want to shake your head the entire time you're driving and it's tough to carry a conversation inside.
i just put on some dynomax bullets, 2.5". They sound great, not as loud as I thought due to the 81 not having the true duals. But easy install, fit underneath nicely, and good throaty sound with no metallic pingy noise. also little to no drone at all
I'm looking for something deep and throaty but, only a little more volume than stock. I love it loud as all heck but, the wife doesn't care for it. Would the Dynomax muffler fit this bill?
like i said i have no cats on, but still just the y pipes no true duals and there's hardly a difference at idle, and little to no drone, but when you get on it, it sounds great. and those bullets are race mufflers, I'm glad I went with them anything less would have been way too quiet
