After taking the seats and carpet out I found close to $4 in change in the retractor wells. Underneath the rear plastic trim on the drivers side I found a rusted socket. And under the carpet in front of the battery compartment I found an almost new construction pencil.
not one but 2 bags of pot , well id call it shake, stuffed up in the rear astro vent thing.
So THAT's where I left those...
I found a restaurant coupon that expired in 1991, a hair pick (stealthy hidden behind the left rear speaker cover), an 11mm socket in the bottom of the passenger door, TONS of broken glass, 5 or six misc. bolts/screws, and about $2 in change.
Somebody out there has a black '69 with a screwdriver in the muffler. I know this because I put my little two year old arm up the tail pipe and left it there while "helping" daddy work in his Vette in 1976. It was a Craftsman. Phillips.
I just pulled the seats out of the car yesterday and i found two extra sets of keys for the ignition...
Now i have five keys that do all the same thing...
Also some really odd things like a keychain level
About another dollar in change...
A plastic ring...to bad it wasnt real...
But hey no rat poo
just pulled the entire interior out and was rewarded with the following:
about 2.40 in very small change
1/2 of a 9/16" craftsman open end wrench
assorted loose interior screws
about a rear windows worth of broken glass
assorted wire cable connectors
From: Lake Arrowhead - Georgia > 72 Base Coupe & 74 BB Roadster
I bought a severely neglected 74 BB Vert last September from....I think.....the daughter/law of the original owner. She got it 17 years ago in "her divorce". She was a bit "shadey" and acted really pissed off when I bought it. She claimed that the car sat for years. She didn't know if the milege was correct or not. Shows 6300 miles. Still has the factory rivets in the rotors...fuel pump...water pump....carb. Now back to the original subject.
Laying in clear view under the back deck...under the ragtop....was a parking ticket from 1976. I have tried to locate the guy on the ticket. Zaba-searched him 30 miles from where I bought the car. He would be 66 yrs old now. Every phone number I have found for him is disconnected. I may send him a regular mail...see if it comes back.
I wish I knew.

I found $2.73 in lose change, alot of rat poop, a pair of needle nose Vice Grips clamped to the rear sway bar, and one spent .45 acp casing under the passenger seat.
I was rooting round in the car the other night and found... two sets of T-top straps, one home made and then right under the back a hard dusty set that when soaked in boiling water seem to be almost new!
Then there's the papers under the battery- an application to transfer title from some guy in washington state to a guy in arizona in 1979, then a title transfer to LA, with an original Pan Am one way flight ticket and boarding pass from LAX to Phoenix in 1985!
Then there's the seals from a C2 in the original GM bag... vent cover. loose change... and when I took off the chrome rims to polish them for the first time (only bought the car a week ago) I find they're packed with old hay like this car has been sat in a barn! Then on a real good inspection under theengine there was a small wasps nest the size of your fist that ... i presume had been vacant property for some time...
I will be looking under the carpets sometime soon to see what else lies in wait!

I was doing an "extreme detail" job today and removed the vents from the airflow exaust right behind the rear window of my '69 coupe. Wax residue had accumulated in between the slots, and I figured it would be easier just to pull 'em and clean them up on a bench. Anyway, the one side was just packed pull of fluffy "stuff". Now, I have to ask, there is no insulation down around there, right?? Don't want to sound dumb, but I pulled out a LOT of crap!! I mean a LOT.
Oh, and I found .10 when trying to figure out how to swap out the passenger side seat belt.
