O.K laddies, I know one of you can lead me in the right direction. Being a huge fan of Mr. Garner and his racing career, I was curious if there was anything on this website concerning his L-88 team? I have been browsing the various websites but am always looking for more. Who owns the cars now? etc. Thanks in advance.
Living in the past is much better than eating the dish of carp their feeding us now.
Two of the 1968 L-88 convertibles are in California. I believe they are owned by the Herlinger Bros. Dave Herlinger runs a Corvette repair facility in Hayward, Ca area. There are several articles written about them, a good article on the cars is in one of the past NCRS Corvette Restorer issues.

Shop seems to be in Moutain View.
There are a few recent photos of James Garner cars in their website. http://www.corvetterepair.org/
Note to all of us '68 owners. In one of the pictures, the grill edges are silver/chrome painted on the left/right sides as well as the center grill. Driver side mirror is mounted more forward then the later '68 produced cars. Front air dam is present, not a real early '68, but still an early production '68. In another photo in the showroom, it shows a stock '68 with the drivers side mirror place further back then the AIR cars.
Thanks for the info guys. Having been a fan for 40 years...or so, I had always wanted to meet him but probably won't happen. Odd thing is that when he raced Baja I always just missed seeing him, I think his choice was a Toronado and AMC, not sure about the AMC. I always run into people I don't want to see......what the hell? It is nice seeing him still working, one of the few real men left in Holleywierd.

Garner's a stud. He was the only actor in Grand Prix that could drive good. The guy playing the English driver was so bad they had to use a pro for him. That's why he has that white scarf on in the close-ups....
