Since it appears that most C3 members prefer not to venture into "Off Topic," we have agreed to allow Off Topic threads that involve the members of the C3 section to remain in C3 General.
Once again, if you have a concern, recommendation, or input for the forum, please send a PM/e-mail to a Moderator in lieu of creating an open thread.
why not merge C3 gen and tech back into 1. Seems that for a lot of people it's too hard to keep tech in tech and gen in gen and it'd be a whole lot less work for the moderators. Don't get me wrong, I was one of those that pleased many times for a split and it used to work but recently it has become very bad and impossible to keep clean IMO.

.....for many members general C3 Corvette discussion IS technically oriented.
With all due respect to Marck (and I think that his point is very valid) the reason that the C3 forum was split in the first place is still very valid. There is a great deal of traffic and posts in these two forums and technical questions fall off the page very rapidly.
As long as the moderators don't mind the extra effort of moving threads, I think that this is a very good proposal.
look at all the Gen or OT stuff in Tech? The forum is spit into 2 sections yes, but both contain the same type of posts, the differentiating is very blurry because people can't seem to grasp the difference...and it's getting worse by the day.I was FOR a tech section (I started many polls back then) but I'm AGAINST a tech section dilluted w/ Gen & OT posts. It's simply un-doable for a moderator to constantly keep moving these posts...especially with so many people posting in the wrong section. If you merge the whole deal again you'll have 1 section where everything is instead of 2, people can't post in the wrong section, no one has to get upset, the mods don't have to move...yadda yadda
Keep the split....better to have some "moderation" between the two than a total mix in one as some guys needing quick help will end up with their thread on page four in just a few minutes and be outta sight...that will lead to many unanwered legitment threads and the post hogs will have a field day and jump in mucking up the whole works with political "stop the war" or my grandmother drives a Lambo type of thing...
the post hogs are having a field day right now also, in 2 different sections. Just check out the # of tech (ish) threads turned into OT after a couple of replies.

the post *****(s) is having a "field day" and the "works" have already been "mucked up" (although I would have spelled "mucked" a little differently).......and just to save you from having to ask...being a post ***** is NOT against the rules, I kinda think it is encouraged....too bad the issue of tons of NON tech/perf BS posts wasn`t addressed....

..maybe when weather improves,it will get more of em out driving, and less BS out of boredom...
IMO the decision to leave the two separate categories is a good one.
I, like some of the others above, ask that people post Tech Issues in Tech and General Topics in General. Way too often the posts are wrong and a member with a serious Tech question is bumped to page 3 and 4 before the guy/gal who would have had the answer got a chance to see it. I have bumped back to top a tech question for 3 days now and only got 2 replies (out of 70 views).
And the need to stay on topic of a thread seems to elude some people.
Like rihwoods said - maybe with nice weather the "cabin fever" will pass and this space will not be filled with chatter. It was 80+ deg here today so I just came back to check in.

C3 owners are indeed a strange and distinct group of people.
We have very little in common with C4, C5 or C6 owners except for the love of a vette. We have a hard time even getting waves from these other generations.
Is it possable that we can get a C3 owner as a Moderator??
