No biggie, you have a nice car too.
When I was in HS all I wanted was a 69 GTO for some reason. Now, I am more than happy with my vette and if ever a GTO were to be in my garage, it would be an earlier version of the GTO with stacked headlights and the bigger body.
All vintage cars are nice. We like Corvettes better. At any show, the "taste" of the judges is a variable...along with their experience [or lack of it] and their personal bias. Don't take it personally. At a show where you don't catch a trophy, you can always ask the judges "What would your car have needed to get a better score?". NEVER ask a judge "why" your car didn't win...it is very bad manners and puts the judge in an awkward position.

My Buddy has a 72 Nova and several have told me they like his car better... I don't take it personal, they are just plain ignorant... Now for the people that have riden in his car and have riden in mine, they tell me that my car is so much faster and cooler...
Just keep in mind that every now and then you'll come across a crowd of people that speak of ignorance. Too bad they havent had the privilege to ride in a vette!
well......i made a mistake, its a lemans, still i think they are kinda ugly, not my cuppa tea,
esentially im thinking it was a popularity contest, hes way populer and i kinda sit in the corner with all my friends, but still im glad it wasnt some little ricer
One of my first cars was a 66 Lemans with a 327 & a 2 speed power glide. That car had 265K on it when I sold it...still ran decent...looked rough...and still fetched $1000 back in the late 80's.
Don't feel bad miles. Anyone in their right mind would take a vette over a Lemans. Now a 66 3 deuce 4 speed ragtop GTO...thats a little different story.
Seriously...it's just a car show. If you like your ride that's all that really matters!
When I was in school it was my friends 78 Camaro that won the "big deal behind the wheel". Never really had a great car until after high school, so I'd say you're doing great driving a Corvette. Met my wife cruising around in that 78 camaro too, good times.....
one 68 chevelle (VERY NICE) the vette 2 GTO's the lemans, a TON of new mustangs an old firebird, one old camaro, tons of new camaros and firebirds and the rest are ricers *BANG*
I was just going to say, I'm surpirsed it wasn't a ricer that won. I had one of the cooler cars in high school in the late 80's, but there were several nicer, and several more that were faster. We didnt' have any kind of competition though.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. My wife prefers the C2 style to the C3, go figure.
I've had a 66 Buick Special conv, a 68 Buick Skylark conv and a 69 Impala conv. I loved em all but always wanted a vette some day and it's all I'll ever want.
Don't feel bad, those other owners are just as proud of their rides as you are of yours.
