Don't chop up that 914. I drove a 914 1.7 for 15 years starting in college and continued after that. It started out fuel injected but I finally broke down and put webbers on it for reliability. About the only problem I had with it was the push rod tube seals which leaked no matter what and an occasional clutch cable snapping. If you ever need the room call me with a price. Good looking garage!

BJ....That is a gorgeous garage.
I hope to remodel mine when I finish this 454 project. Or at least sweep it out. Right now mine looks like someone blew up 2 Vettes and a 70 GMC pick up!
Living on a Farm there is lots of barns on the place but no place for a 79 and a 95 vette, always wanted a big two car garage, came home from patrol this afternoon and guess what? A brand new ready built garage sitting on the place, now only need to pour concrete floor and it will be perfect, I THOUGHT. Aint I married to a wonderful wife!!!! Talk about a fathers day present.
Wife came home from work and was PIZZED OFF, BIG TIME, would not speak to me and no supper, ran around the house with her lip stuck out and it did not matter how many times I tried to talk with her she just gave me the old (Not tonight and not for the next month look). I went out and started planning on the concrete, wiring the garage and planning where to put tool chests, welders and so on.
Hell I been cut off before and it did not kill me. While planning all the stuff my neighbor came over and told me that he really liked my new garage and he had just ordered one just like it and it was supposed to be delivered today. Well tomorrow the buidling comany is supposed to come over and move the garage to where it was supposed to go. Thats the bad news, the good news you ask? I am not cut off for a month.

Well now you know if you get a garage you only have to suffer for a month. Shoot it'll take that long to fill it and keep you busy.
Make it a three car and give the wifey a bay for her hobbies.

BeeJay, you get that "new toy" yet??? PICS!!!!
Not yet. Father's Day if I'm lucky. As long as it's here by August 4th, my 50th birthday party.
Bee Jay,
The Garage and the cars look awesome. The projector for the images works out really well. I did this 9 years ago for my Daughter's Disney Nursery and everyone commented on what an artist I was. If they only knew...
Fantastic looking garage, BeeJay! Wow. Awesome.
Now, would somebody please explain the "projector" thing for me? As a non-artist, I'd really love to know how this is done.
BJ, there is a guy down here local that has a 914 with a LS1 in it. He also has a 911 with a LS1 with a vortech on it. He designed and patented the kit. I think the website is www.toy-jet.com
His name is Clemon and he is super cool, loves to talk about the conversions.... Check his site out.

Bee Jay, Looks great!!! How long did you have to wait between coats?
I used the Rustoleum epoxy 3 years ago and have been very happy with it. Has some scuff marks (most from my son doing "burnouts" with his battery powered truck), but overall has held up great. Was thinking about recoating, this time using the grit additive and/or sprinkles to prevent slipping (did not use the sprinkles . Kids wipe out if the floor gets wet - I have too .

I waited at least 24hrs between color and clear coats. Hey, can you take a picture of what your floor looks like after three years? Did you clear coat?

Bye the Way, I would like to add the logo "Stingray" under the Corvette logo. Anyone have that in an emailable format? I would really appreciate it if you could send it to me.
Thanks

You're avoiding the big question. Are we still waiting till Aug 4th????

Did not use clear coat, but after seeing your floor I will next time! One of my projects this week is working on the garage, I'll get you a photo once it is clean.
The only other thing I will do differently next time is to fill in the expansion joints. As it is now, in the winter when the cars come in with snow pack (not too common where you are at), the snow melts and runs into the joints. The water then permiates up thru the concrete and has allowed some of the epoxy to flake off a couple of inches on either side of the joint. The only good part is that with the gray epoxy it is not as noticable.
Just a thought: If I were to use the clear coat next time, could I paint the Corvette logo on top of the base epoxy then apply the clear? Would there be an adverse reaction with the paint?
