Default Window Tinting

I just posted pictures of my 77 after I got it back from the body shop - check it out!. I am thinking about getting the windows tinted. What do you guys think about that? Could you post some pictures of your vettes that have tinted windows.

TIA

I tinted mine with the lightest grey metalic material to cut 90% of the UV, add slght color, and hide some scratches, but keep the windows looking OE to almost everyone. I think this subtle tint looks great and doesnt detract from the rest of a newly painted or well maintained vette.

I have been debating this also. My glass is all out now. Is there a permanant tint that can be done on removed glass or is the applied film the only option?

Nothing worse than trying to get the tint off after police stop you. I hear it costs a couple of hundred bucks just to get it off. Make sure you do it legal the first time.

Getting tint off is generally easy and free. Getting the glue off can be a little harder. I used Foamy Engine bright on the last vehicle I detinted. It took a few hours, but it only cost $4 and a razor blade.

I think old cars with tinted windows tend to look stupid. If you can do what the other guy did where you can't really tell, then go for it.

Love tinted windows, but at the first sign that Bubba works at the tint shop you've found, RUN!

Most policemen don't have a visibility meter or a control piece to show
its calibrated.
