Engineering at it's Finest
NOT!
Before I left to go to Cruisin' OC this week, I discovered that the vent/ac on my side (yes, the driver's side) wasn't working.
As I investigated, I found that the duct that connects the vent ball to the plenum was MIA, and the plenum was taped over completely.
No way to get the part in 12 hours, so I was left to fend for myself with what I had laying around.
Here are 2 pics of what I did and with what to temporarily solve my problem.
Amazing what you can do with some sump pump drain hose and duct tape.
Remember, I never said I was proud of it, just that it worked and couldn't be seen above seat level.

Good work Mc Gyver, anybody can fix it with the right parts but few can improvise and have it work. You are to be commended, Peace,,,Moosie

Skunk ... You beat me to it. That's exactly what went through my mind when I read this thread! Creativity is great, but order the right part when you can. {If you sell it, someone will think "Bubba was here!"}

Duct Tape!
Mama always did say, "If it moves and shouldn't, use DUCT TAPE. If it doesn't move and should, use WD40." I've recently made the switch to PB Blaster instead of WD40, but duct tape cannot be replaced!

Very nice temp fix
What is the purpose of that vent?
I have them on the pass and driver side of my 68.
I've removed the AC and vent system but don't want water to filter into my interior via those ducts. Is there a way to seal them up until I get an aftermarket AC vent system down the road in a few years?
Should I really worry about water coming in thru those ducts?
I am in the process of replacing the seals on the larger vents below the ones questioned.
