I put a stinger hood on my 74 about 3-4 weeks ago, just starting to get used to the look. A new hood sure takes some getting used to, still not 100% sure i like it.
Wish i had never seen a 6 inch cowel hood on a vette, i like that look a lot and i never liked a cowel hood till i seen one on a vette!!!!!!!!!!
Both your hoods look great, but i vote for the L88 hood.
i like the lt-1 hood because it is less common but both look good. i just got my high rise l-88 from vanacore last week and it looks killer. i needed the extra room for my new set up.
I have a L88 hood I would love to trade for an LT1 - so I guess thats my vote. I will be purchasing an LT1 hood today. Did you go with PM or hand laid? I was told by one company they had a 3 month back order on the PM

Be forewarned not even L-88 hoods accommodate all set ups
I had to go with the L88 hood due to the high-rise manifold. Even with that I still don't have the room to use a wing-nut to put on the breather. I had to go with just a regular nut.
Thanks DZ! And now for the truth in advertising statement: The "flawless" look is really just a good wax job (the paint's in pretty good condition, but definitely not flawless), and the color is really Mille Miglia red - that deeper red (which is the color I want if I ever have it repainted) is due to the car being in the shade when I took the photo.
It's hard to pick one over the other. How about a tie for first place? They are both works of art. I was thinking of going with the Stinger...may have to rethink that now.
Guys,
They both look great, but I'm torn between two thoughts on the matter. The C3 is the only car I can think of where the fenders are actually HIGHER than the hood/bonnet, and a stock hood confirms this. And this fact really makes a C3 stand out in a car show or on the street, especially in Australia. You put a hood on that's taller than the fenders, and this effect is minimised.
However, I'd put one of those L88 hoods on in a heartbeat if I found that a taller manifold/spacer/carb/filter combo forced me to modify my standard '74 hood. DZRick, do you have the air valve in the back of that hood, or is it open to atmosphere? I like the idea of cowl induction and the '73/'74 standard air intake set up and presume it could be adapted to an L88 hood like you've got.
That and the cooler air, but the LT-1 hood looks better IMO. I think it's the chrome inserts that do it.
I agree. From a perspective of the driver or rear view mirror in the car in front of you the L88 looks bad azz.
From a car show perspective where you are looking down on the hood the chrome inserts of the LT-1 can't be beat.
Wish someone would merge both and have an L88 with the chrome inserts.
