DB, that install looks good. Did you cut the existing kick panels or use the pre-shaped ones on that install?

Those are panels bought from Corvettengineering. They have the holes already cutout. I have cut my own panels out before but these were easy to just buy and install.

Now, note, I did have to do some minor modifications to the body mount pockets. I used a grinder, and cut the lips out. There is a big lip at the door jamb side and a small lip at the firewall side. Thirty seconds with a grinder and I had plenty of room for the large basket speakers. Keep in mind that those CDTs have huge magnets.

I waiting on an email from my supplier to make sure that bezel is still available for the discounted price.

I can snap a few tonight. I do not need to modify my body mount pockets for my speakers and kicks but the panel is off and it would be easy for me to do it. I'll take before and after pics and post them tonight.

I can even pinpoint the drill and cut location if you can tell me what model speakers you're wanting to install.

Was thinking of getting 4 of these Infinity Kappa 62.7i for about 225.00 for 4. And the Alpine CDE-9881 for 180.00 It controls the ipod.
Not sure about a sub or amp yet.

I'm not sure where you're getting your speakers but you might be able save a few bucks here.

When you get ready to get an amp and sub let me know and I'll give you some suggestions.

Sorry I wasn't able to get to the pics sooner. I was out of town most of the weekend.

I don't have specific knowledge of that head unit but most will play music from you iPod but won't control them. There are a few that will but for the most part the head unit will just play the iPod and the controls are still in your hands.

Runningman - Didn't you get the small radio bezel piece that fills the lower contours and cleans up the install over the radio know molds?

Gotta question about the install. I'm thinking of upgrading the stereo in my 70... Will I have to modify my benzel like Runningman with his 73....Sounds like you have already mentioned some pretty good stereo units...I also want to use my Ipod with the stereo....My question is in regards to the speakers. I'm thinking of only adding 2 speakers in just the kickpanel areas. Will these Infinity Kappa A62.71 provide enough sound for my car. I can't see putting speakers in the back because when i drive me car....it also has something in the back that I need to take...Thanks for the info
