1982 torque converter problems?

Default 1982 torque converter problems?
I have a 1982 Silver Blue Corvette. When I drive it the transmission shifts fine but when the torque converter goes into lock up mode it locks fine but will not disengage easy enough. I have to downshift or accelerate quickly to get the converter to unlock. Any suggestions? The car is giving me no diagnostic codes and all works well there.

When is it not unlocking? from your post it unlocks when you downshift, so when you tap the brakes it doesn't unlock? check the brake switch

It does unlock when I tap the brakes. When I accelerate slightly it will not disengage.

Once it locks it is not supposed to unlock under slight aceleration. Something has to break the circuit and drop out the TCC Solenoid: Brake tap, downshift out of 3rd
