For all you Firefox users - Download the NoScript plug-in. This prevents any & all scripting except the specific ones you approve. You'll have to go to all your usual sites & allow them. On this site deny google-syndication & it stops the ads. I allow the forum only, all others are blocked by default. I can't help the IE & Opera guys. The good thing about this is if they chose different scripters, or decide to randomly rotate the script vendors, it doesn't matter. All are blocked by defualt.

This opens another box.right click on the url below and click on copy shortcut, copy and paste this url in the add this website to the zone box.
Oh fer cryin' out loud, the ad is only displayed in the first post of each thread - big f'in deal. Guys are leaving over that? Sheesh...
Totally agree. I can't believe the hand-wringing over this.
Maybe people should just put an "X" in the first post of starting a thread, then reply and post the real OP... that way no one will have to see the ad and have their brains melt.
I must say, of the majority of members/posters around here, I always found your posts to be some of the most direct and accurate, and I always stop to see what you post, while buzzing through the threads.
...I am not kissing your ***, nor insinuating you 'should' stay...just saying thanks for the knowledge, and I hope you drop back by...maybe things will change or the advertisement is not so abrasive when reading threads.

It's the first step, and a sign of things to come. All large corporate decisions are nothing more than a math problem. If the profits are higher than the cost, do it. If ads in the first post of every thread generate $1500 per month in additional profits, and only costs a 4% loss in active membership, do it. Long term effects do not matter.
