Durango Boy,
I thought I was home free by adding the URL to my blocked sites list but learned the hard way today, like Big G said, getting tired of having to add another URL to the blocked list everytime I sign on to the Forum.
I am spending all my time adding URLs and little time reading posts.
I know you know computers MUCH better than I ever will; is there any way to block all adds from everyone without buying additional software?
I am running Internet Explorer
Thanks,
Kurt
I do not know of any programs off hand that get rid of them all. Search on Download.com for ad blocker, and there will be a way to search only for free ware, which you won't have to pay for.
I'm not getting any ads.
The only thing I see that is different is a small ad by Google that is on the right side in the first post on a thread and this isn't even all threads.
I run Trend Micro Anti virus that has all kinds of blocking, filtering etc., although I didn't set up anything special.
Maybe that will help some of you.

I just went to download.com and downloaded Stopzilla and followed all the instructions and rebooted.
Ad is still there.
Did I screw up or is it not possible to stop this thing when running IE rather than Firefox?

I'm actually working on that right now. These ads may or may not be picked up by the various ad blockers based solely on what they are and their code. If they are designed a certain way they will not be caught by some ad blockers.
Was Stopzilla the only one? Did you try putting Internet Explorer in your search? You can change the search words to see how the results vary.
I am tired of adding ads to the blocker list. I'm outta here. You know where to find me.......
I must say, of the majority of members/posters around here, I always found your posts to be some of the most direct and accurate, and I always stop to see what you post, while buzzing through the threads.
...I am not kissing your ***, nor insinuating you 'should' stay...just saying thanks for the knowledge, and I hope you drop back by...maybe things will change or the advertisement is not so abrasive when reading threads.
I thought nothing was suppose to change with the buyout.
I hope they work with us to keep this place an enjoyable place to converse with eachother. The adds are getting annoying.
I didn't notice the ads.....As far as the departure, any Corvette Forum has to be a good thing. I think they are all good including your new home. I like to look at all of them. You will find the same range of expertise no matter where you go. There seems to be a crazy rivalry but to me,we all have the same thing in common, these 4 wheel wonders.......GP
