I'll have to check those out. I like to boot it but I'm more of a 2nd and 3rd gear stomper. I have 2 sons in their 20's so I imagine that when I'm out of earshot there's going to be some tire spinning.
I'm going to be too scared to romp on it in 1st because I'll constantly be thinking "hmm... did we tighten that nut down? how about that hose clamp? wait... what's that smell?" I'll check out some RAM and Centerforce clutches... I might be able to get a wholesale price on the Centerforce but I'll have to check.
Thanks. I'll try to find the drawing over there. I'll have to get the cylinder out of the body tonight and take some pics. I haven't looked at it for a month or so and I don't remember if it is angled exactly like the stock cylinder. Most likely it is but with the aftermarket you never know.
Is that bracket commerically available? It looks like the S&P (I think) version. If I can buy one off the shelf it would save me from displaying my limited fabrication skills for the world to see.
There are some pics on page 2 of the engine/trans mounted in the frame. No clearance issues with the engine with the exception of the heater hose connections. 45 degree connections should fix that.
Right now I have the transmission mount bolted to the crossmember with a plate extending forward to the mount holes on the trans. I won't know if the tail of the trans will need to be lowered until I get the differential mounted.
It's been a long cold snowy winter up here so I had to do any work either in my basement or the cramped garage, but I managed to make some forward progress. Replaced a differential yoke, put in new halfshaft u-joints, installed the rear suspension, put in most of the new brake lines, modified the crossmember and fabbed (I use the term loosely) a trans mount. Yesterday we were able to roll the chassis out for the first time in almost 2 months so I took a few pics. We're also working on cleaning and detailing the engine bay so we won't be surrounding a nice clean engine with a cruddy looking body.

Looking so good. You guys are making some great progress on it. I dropped my motor in mine this weekend and found it needs to go back about an inch or so. I need to still order my fuel setup like you have and get that plumbed up. Then make all the connections and I should be ready to go.

Eddie,
I saw your post over in the LS1 thread. Looks like the shifter is coming up in a bad place. The Camaro T56 is pretty long so the shifter is going to land about in the middle of the lower half of the console. My son has come up with a nice design for a shifter plate and we are going to see if we can get it fabbed up (for free) at M.I.T. I'm going to buy some fuel line and get that plumbed in next. The plan is to follow the contours of the vapor return line. I'm hoping to get the body back on some time in May. I wish I had a nice area to work in like you and TNBUSA do. Rain on a weekend totally screws my plans.
What front springs do you have in your car? I've noticed that even with everything I have installed so far the front A-arms are still up against the bumpstops, and I have the 550# springs installed.
Just wondering how the project is going?? Getting ready to do one in the near future myself.
Since the last pics were posted we've had rain every weekend so I haven't been able to get the chassis outside. I got the fuel line routed to the front and attached to the filter as well as getting the rest of the new brake lines attached. I've been spending most of the time working on the engine bay - cleaning, painting and trying to neaten up the hoses and wiring. I was planning to get the chassis out this weekend, but more rain coming.
Very nice! Are those LS6 exhaust manifolds? What year?
They are LS1 manifolds from a Z06 Vette. I bought them from a forum member shortly after I bought the engine. I don't remember the year of the manifolds but I'm thinking early 2000's. They are ceramic powdercoated so we'll see if they help to hold down the heat in the engine bay.
