Default Seats for a C3

A friend of mine has a C3 and the hardware in his seats is worn out and he doesn't like the seats because they don't have much support. He would like to know what seats would be compatable with a C3 and where he can find some seats for it. Can anyone help him out?

'00-'05 Toyota Celica seats fit C3's narrow dimensions. They can be had for about $150/pr on eBay.

If you're talking about an early C3, the 79-82 seats are another option.

FYI, this is the parts for sale section. More people might chime in with useful options in Tech or Gen.

I have the Corbeau's and they offer a lot of support and comfort. If I did it again, I would buy the seats, but not the brackets. I would make my own brackets.

Ouch! Non-vette seats in a C3? (blasphemy...) Actually, to each his/her own. But I do like the look of the C5/6 seats in a C3.

I am very happy with my 80 seats in my 68, 8 hour rides are no problems anymore

My wife & I drive to work everyday in a Celica GT-S with the seats pictured above. Our travel is 20 miles each way and takes about 30 min. After 30 min both of our backs are aching. Not the best way to start a work day.

These seats DO NOT have any lumbar support and I would not suggest using them in a C3.....get C4,5 or C6 seats

I have C5 seats in my '70 and when I do have it out, I drive 2-3 hrs at a time....and no back ache.

That is the exact reason I don't buy seats from a VW Bettle that are shipped from San Fransisco

I guess, when it comes to most after market seats, it's all about body type and build and personal preference.

I too have been on a few long drives in a Toyota Celica GT with the same seats, and I loved them. I personally love the way my back contours to those seats, and the way the bolsters fit under my arms.

I also sit very straight in seats and don't slouch, but I love them.

Me and a buddy installed them in a project truck for a customer, and he has enjoyed every minute his butt has sat in them. I finally decided to put them in my Vette, and for my needs they are perfect.

To each their own.

It takes us 4-5 hours to get to Carlilse each year, and I find my stock 79 seats plenty comfortable. I also like the way they fold down 1/2 way up the back, because I carry my buddies fold up 10x10 canopy for car shows, it won't fit in his 66.
