Scam???
Tell these people to hand you cash only for just the amount you want, hand them the title and you walk away, if they don't agree then there loss.
I just sold a car to a guy from Vancouver. I did the same as above.
On another note, tell the guy that it's customary in the U.S. to throw in an extra couple grand because it's a Vette.

Just because the guy has poor english doesn't mean he's a Nigerian branching out. Get cash, then sign the title and book. Cash is very negotiable! Let the guy wire transfer the money to the shipper and let him give you cash. After that they can burn the car on the shipping dock and it's no skin off you; stop payments work on checks, not cash. There ARE US cars in foreign countries, legitimately bought and shipped. Years ago had a gf/wife that had a brother in Saudi Arabia who put forth the idea of me shipping cars on the side to Saudis. At the time I was short on cash, had no slightest idea of what was involved, and lived no where near a port. I nixed the idea. Trusted him and his family fine but it was startup and learning curve. Perhaps I would be driving my ferrari down to supervise the latest shipment being hoisted onto the boat by now, dunno.
Clark wants you to know about a scam going on right now on Craigslist.org, the free online classified service. He got a letter from a man who had listed an item on the site for sale who got duped. The man got tons of responses to his listing, but the people want to pay with cashier’s checks that they claimed had already been cut for more than what he was asking. They asked simply that he send them back the difference once he got the cashier’s check. This is a complete scam. The man told the people to send the checks and then he sent them to Clark. They look 100 percent authentic and claimed to have come from several different banks in Houston and Northeast. The checks even have the watermark seal on them and came in the amounts ranging from $2,000 to $8,000. The scamsters sent the man about a half a dozen checks in total, and they’re all fakes. If you get an offer like this, DO NOT RESPOND. The banking industry has failed miserably when it comes to verifying these checks. So, when you cash one, you will be in a world of financial hurt.
Good luck!!
