Without all those body kits being sold, Ecklers and Greenwood would still be small stores selling niche items. It was a period of automotive self expression. I never cared for the look. I couldn't afford a vette back then, and everytime I saw one of these full size slot cars, I asked myself 'why would someone do that to an already beautiful car?'
This one is one of the better executed ones I've seen. Doesnt look like Bubba did any of the work on it. And it has been converted to a big block with a 5 speed. Always good.
The seller has been trying to sell this for a while now. The first listing I saw of it had it listed at 70k
If I had this much disposable cash though, I could buy 2 or 3 of the cars on my wish list.
This same car was for sale a month or two ago, same seller. No one wants the damn thing. Obviously whoever did the work knows what they're doing, and accomplished what they wanted to accomplish, but that doesn't mean the final product is going to be good.
The thing is, if they would replace those stupid lights with the original popup lights on it and put a set of original or rally wheels on it, they could tout all of the other mods, including the extended flares (to accept wider tires) as performance upgrades and someone would buy it.
What is it about C3's that makes some people have to "improve" upon their universally admired styling?
I'm not talking about performance modifications or general personalizing. I'm talking about Monster Garage stuff. Is it just the fiberglass tempting everyone with a sawzall and a spatula? If true it still wouldn't account for those god-awful paint jobs and interiors that we see all too often.
It just seems that when the metal bodied cars get modified there are fewer debates about the results being so danged fugly.
OK, I'm done. Thanks for listening.

THAT'S A GREENWOOD BODY KIT - personally I have never seen a Greenwood body kit I liked.
You can't improve on perfection, and the C3 body is just that. Those who try end up with vettes like this one.
And I agree on the greenwood kits, I haven't yet seen one I liked on any vehicle anywhere. There was one C3 hood that I kind of liked, but that was it ... none of the body extras ever look right on a C3. GM got it right the first time.
Wide body kit that looks to be well done. The Big Block and upgraded tranny is a plus, the NOS kit is cool. The suspension mods are already done. I like it. Fix a few things to my liking such as the bad wheel paint and the headlight covers and I would enjoy the car.
I like a well done wide body and with a few minor changes (wheels & interior) this could be a nice car. Price is high, I'm betting the seller is trying to get his money back.
I've got no problem with it other than the price. I like my cars to be a little different; ok, this one is a lot different but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
