I don't know why I should feel I have to defend myself, but I never said I was going to do this. I was simply asking if the owners that didn't have it, wished they had or visa-versa. I don't have a problem changing the whole PS system out.
More over performance or anything else, I just want a cleaner engine compartment with less accessories. I have plans to remove my A/C system too. So I just want to know if the trade -off would be worth it.
I keep everything I take off both my vettes so I can re-install them later if need be.
My 68 doesn't have it so I am going to leave it original....
My '68 does not have power steering. I am adding the factory system. Horsepower loss is negligible on a street driven car. At road speed, the PS makes little difference. In the drive way or in a parking lot, it helps.
The tires make a difference. My car was all manual. I added 17's with wide rubber and very glad to have power steering. You will always have a number of people on CF telling you to lift weights etc and not have ps.
