Unless I am missing something you are basically talking about replacing stock parts with performance improvers. Nothing that can't be put back if you keep the old stuff. Make it yours and drive like hell.

Your opinion sounds good to me! Some year Corvettes cry out for performance mods. We stress the don't throw anything out part also.
