Folks,
I've recently heard that Canadian corvettes can be documented as to their original build specs through GM Canada (or something related). I did a quick search on the forum and found some seller referring to this, but I'd like to know more. Is this a reliable database? Does it eliminate the need for a tank sticker to know original option list? Where can I learn more?
Thanks,
If your vette is an original Canadian export car, then GM Canada can provide you documentation for a fee. I believe the guy's name is George Zapora that does this for GM. Here is a link:
In my corvette documentation file I have a letter from GM Canada stating that my 1968 corvette was NOT originally built for export to Canada. And it didn't cost me anything! My vette had spent quite a few years in Canada, so I checked with GM Canada to see if it was originally shipped there, and they were kind enough to tell me that it was not. They only charge you if they have info on your car.
No myth.Gm Canada Historical Service can provide the data on most models originally sold in Canada,Corvette or otherwise. One of the few advantages of having to live up here I guess...
