Default Somthing bit me!!!

Well, she got me. I went and got the Vortec 350 Curt and I will be rebuilding for his '74, and this afternoon while tearing it down for it's trip to the machine shop I got bit.

I was removing the flywheel while the motor was bolted to an engine stand and the wrench slipped off and my hand hit the edge of the block.

Trust me, it's deeper than it looks.

Wash wound with soap and water. Use the antiseptic Bactine as directed on package.

That's just a love nip. If the motor was really angry with you it would have taken off a finger

It must sense that it'll become a Corvette engine. These danged cars seem to always want a measure of blood.

Engine Block - 1
Durango_boy - 0

I'm sure you stayed in the game!

Yeah, It's not so bad. Worst I ever did was almost split my thumb in two with a hammer when pounding a ball joint out of a Ramcharger knuckle.

Since then my hand has swelled up like a softball. I'm pretty much typing one handed. I think I bruised the bones and tendons underneath. I hung in there, washed it up, and got the short block all torn down.

My buddy always says "soak it in cider".

I never knew what it meant, but he always laughed.

Is that regular dickens cider or hard dickens cider. I guess whatever dulls the pain. Seriously, what year motor etc are you using?

My dad was jacking up the back end of his 76 Camaro back in the day, and he was on one knee right behind the back bumper. The jack gave out and the full weight of the car fell on his knee, shattering his ankle and seriously messing up his knee. I'd take a bite mark over broken bones anyday.
