There was a good thread here a while back with pictures of building wheelwell enclosures out of fiberglas. I think I have the thread bookmarked. If not, I saved the pictures and text as a document, I can send that to you.

Here is my system that Matt has helped me with...
I have an Alpine deck with the I pod cable.Ipod total controll, with a set of 6.5 Infinity Kappa series in the kicks and a MB Quart 10in sub in a box that Matt built for me so i can still get mt ttops in if needed...
I also have a 300 watt cadence 4ch amp......
Here's the thread. Look for Scott Marzahl's posts - he has a link that includes the pictures of his custom enclosures. They're set up for 8" subs, but a similar box could be built for anything that will physically fit with enough sound room.
and you have no trouble getting your t-tops in? Looks pretty crowded in there
I installed a system in a guys C3 locally very similar to Ptroxx's setup. The box and amp and locations for everything are the same. There is in fact room for the T-tops and that one amp runs both the sub and front kick panel speakers.
Riding in Curt's Vette, the local one I did, is like going to a Nickelback concert.

Excellent!
I need then to know what size sub and box will work. I assume that I will need a four channel amp? Newbie at this amp stuff.
The Polk speakers I have already sourced. Matt, you seem to be the man!

I did that box for AJRothM as well. I took a larger box of his and sectioned it to fit his needs. The boxes I build for these C3s are VERY similar is size and shape and I have one just like it in my own car.

Wire the two voice coils in series for a 4 OHM load to the amp.
This is all hinging on your head unit though. Does the head unit you have have RCA outs?
Yes it does. Is there an amp and kick panel speakers that are available from the same site as the sub? I am in Canada and each time something comes across the border, I get nailed by a broker. If it all comes fromt the same place, I pay one brokerage fee. The border really is a pain.
I am trying to picture how this all works. From my radio the RCA leads out to the amp. Then leads from the amp to the speakers and the sub? Is it that simple?

Kinda funny you use Nickelback for an example...
I went for a cruise today and was listening to them.....And yes mine is like a concert aswell.

Unfortunately no, the amp and sub are two totally different companies, and the amp happens to be made by an amp that's very hard to find through online audio stores like the one I linked the SUB from. Would it help if we order the stuff to my house and I shipped it to you? Would that cut down the brokerage fee?

That's correct. The head unit has outs for RCA, hopefully you have two sets. They go to the amp, along with a remote turn on wire, or if you don't have one, an IGN or ACC lead to tell the amps to turn on. Then, you'll have a large POS and NEG running from the amp to the battery, and speaker wires from the amp to the sub and to the front speakers.
When I bought my 82 it had this very type of set up in it. The po used Infinity 6x9 speakers with the same type of grill, black material around the plywood but I removed them . Supposedly they work great with an amp but my car had no amp and I wanted the stock look anyway. Also the black material didnt look good with a blue interior. They're still sitting in my garage if you or anyone wants them for a fair price, hows 30 bucks incl shipping?
ESU
That's perfect. It does have front and rear channels for amps.
So, just for my newbie self, one set of kick panel speakers, one sub, and one amp? Or are separate amps required for the sub and speakers?
On the topic of shipping, I appreciate the offer, but the only way to get the stuff across is to have it sent to a receiver on the border in Calais or Houlton Me. From there I drive across and bring it back with receipts. I pay the Canadian tax and I'm home free. Yes the four hour drive (each way) is considerably cheaper than having it shipped across the border.
Other than that your only hope would be to mail it to me, call it a gift and pray they dont open it. I can always source that stuff up here, but the price difference would stagger you. Even though our dollar is currently higher, the brokers still get their piece when stuff comes across.

Both the front speakers and the sub can run off of the same 4 channel amp I linked above. Channels 1 and 2 will drive the front speakers and channels 3 and 4 will be bridged to drive the subwoofer.
You'll need an amp kit, and luckily you CAN get a correct one from the same company as the sub I linked to you.
Check locally and maybe you can piece it together yourself but the kits just make it easier. Essentially you need two sets of RCA cables, enough 4 gauge cable for the power and ground cables, speaker wire, remote turn on wire or provisions to make a relay harness for the remote turn on, and speaker wire.
A general kit with terminals and spades will also be a good idea so you can wire everything.

Fricking rocks.
Canadian rock
Best line ever from a concert - Nickelback at Edmonton in 2001. "I remember coming here and watching AC/DC and Metallica rock this place... NOW IT'S OUR TURN!
I personally don't like the sound of all music coming from the front, that's why I am building some rear boxes.
