Both the front speakers and the sub can run off of the same 4 channel amp I linked above. Channels 1 and 2 will drive the front speakers and channels 3 and 4 will be bridged to drive the subwoofer.
You'll need an amp kit, and luckily you CAN get a correct one from the same company as the sub I linked to you.
Check locally and maybe you can piece it together yourself but the kits just make it easier. Essentially you need two sets of RCA cables, enough 4 gauge cable for the power and ground cables, speaker wire, remote turn on wire or provisions to make a relay harness for the remote turn on, and speaker wire.
A general kit with terminals and spades will also be a good idea so you can wire everything.
OK
I will start gathering things up. The amp you linked me to si from a company that will not ship outside the lower 48. I will try and source one from a company who will. Once I have all teh stuff rounded up I will check back in. I got a set of plans today for converting the kick panels for a set of Polk 6.5 rounds using fibreglass. Very neat looking job.

Sure thing. Just keep me posted and I will help you however I can through all the steps.
I've seen people mount the amp behind the passenger side seat also... depends on the size of your amp too... as well as breathablity... I'm thinking about putting mine behind the seat trying to see if the center hatch area on my 79 will allow for some mods to fit a 8" in there... hidden out of sight...

Don't mount the tweeters. They are not part of that system as how you would use it. Just mount the amp to power the speakers and put the tweeters on a shelf. The Polks have very good highs...so you won't need the tweeters as extras.

Hi Matt
I have been out of the country fopr a bit. However I did source the Cadence amp aqnd the sub has arrived. I couldnt find the Polk speakers so I found the same specs in a set from Blaupunkt and I bought those. They are components but shallow mount. Same power and specs otherwise. Now I will get down to sending you the resources for the box.

Cool, just keep me posted.
Also, let me know when and if you have any questions about the install.
This is what I did for my '81 . You can still place the T-Tops under them with the original strap, and you can also put many combinations of speakers in it . I still have the original exaust, so I don't need to have an Amp, or big thumpers to out do the engine sound
I'm sure if you elliminate the two center speakers, you may be able to place a small amp right in the box
You can buy this "Bridge" from Eckler's also Eckler's sells a deaper fiber-board box covered in carpet that will fit over the rear wheel wells - I bought both and experimented with them when I was redoing my audio system - I prefer what you see in the picture.

EMTMIKE (and others): how did you fasten that box? If you have to brake hard, won't it come flying forward?
I can't speak for others, but to get mine in I had to get one corner in a slide the other back. It is not attached but fits so snugly under the package tray it wouldbe impossible for it to come forward.
