Removing Center Gauge Console

first remove the side carpet pieces. The screws are "hidden" in the carpet but feel around for them. there are three screws holding in each of the carpeted side pieces, one at the front, one in the middle right about where the center console mats to the parking brake cover, and one toward the back.
next loosen the center console plate. There are three screws again on each side of I remember correctly holding it down to the transmission tunnel.
next, there are two screws that connecting the center console plate to the center gauge plate. These two screws are righ where the two parts meet and are UNDERNEATH the center console plate and going up into the bottom of the center gauge plate. They are NOT fun to get to and require a right angle tool like a very small rachet and socket. Again, if I'm remembering correctly i think those two screws actually have a bolt-type head so you need a socket rather than a slotted or phillips head for a screwdriver.
there are than four screws holding in the center gauge console plate, two are at the very top right in front of the air vents going up into the dash, and two are on the side of the plate going ito the sides if the dash.
Once you get the center console plate loosened from the tunnel and unscrewed from the center gauge plate and the center gauge plate unscrewed from the dash you can slide the center console plate back a bit away from the center gauge plate. Be VERY careful because if those two plate rub each other the chrome trim on the edges will rub off immediately.
now you can CAREFULLY pull out the center gauge plate from the dash. It won't come out too far yet but as soon as you get it out enough to get your hand behind it you have to discinnect the wire harness at the top for the illunmination light and than VERY CAREFULLY remove the big harness plug connected in the middle that is the connection for the gauges. also, be care when hadling the center gauge plate as you are working with it removing the wiring harnessses and how you put it down as there is a very fragile flexible circuit board that is what controls all those gauges.
